My mom seems somewhat cheery today, which is scaring me. Evil is frightening... but it doesn't become horror until it's dressed up as a clown, smiling broadly and offering you a balloon.

She's just sitting there... quietly staring at the television. This wouldn't bother me so much, except that what is on the television is the Republican Convention... and she's watching it with the sound off. What in the world could be fascinating about a mob of Republican mimes?
